In Group Therapy, the process can take one of two forms known as 'Open Groups' or 'Closed Groups' and both have their pro's and con's. Open Groups allow new people to come into the program at any stage whereas a Closed Group means that the same group of people will go through the program together from start to finish.

The Empowered Recovery Groups program is a Closed Group and the next intake starts the week of the 25th March 2020.

The program consists of one 90 minute group session per week which is run from 6pm - 7:30pm and one individual session with your therapist each fortnight at a time that works for you.

To secure your place in the next intake, sign up today as numbers are limited.
Please note that payment is required in full prior to the start of the program and the deposit is non-refundable.

Action
The first of three phases from the original Empowered Recovery Individual program, Action is a structured yet flexible 12 week program that works with your schedule.

Attending one session per week, Action is filled with practical tools and strategies to help you manage your experience of stress and distress while gaining an understanding on how poor stress management has impacted on your substance use.

A major contributing factor to substance abuse are the experience of big emotions or a desire for a release. As such, upon completion of Action you will have learnt and likely mastered many effective stress management tools that may assist with the reduction of substance use.
Resilience
Phase two of the original Empowered Recovery Individual program, like it's namesake Resilience helps you to build more resilience around substance abuse and addiction related behaviours.

This stage of the program ramps up the support and interaction and runs over six months. Starting with three touch points a week for the first 10 weeks and taking a 'step-down' approach to end with one session per fortnight, you will have access to an online learning video, phone coaching and in person sessions.

Upon completion of Resilience you will have access to practical tools and strategies to manage things such as cravings, urges and triggers along with a clearer understanding of what addiction is, how it progresses over time and what your early warning signs are. In doing so you are provided with the highest chance of long term success which means you are better equipped to avoid relapse.
Purpose
Finally, build a life filled with direction, connection and purpose by completing the third phase of the original Empowered Recovery Individual program, Purpose.

By building a strong awareness of your values and goals, you will have the capacity to redefine your identity in a meaningful way while fostering the confidence in your ability to maintain your recovery into the future.

This program also runs over 6 months in a similar structure to Resilience, with online videos, phone coaching and face to face sessions to ensure you have all the support you need to implement the strategies into your daily life. Upon completion of Purpose, you will understand the steps to take to maintain recovery and manage any unexpected hiccups along the way.

Individual Counselling
We all love freedom and options, so our individual counselling services are here for people who would prefer to have a more ad hoc approach to therapy. Our therapists have a range of knowledge and experience in different areas associated with substance abuse and addiction such as anxiety, low mood, trauma, intimacy and relationship problems.
Our Legal Services
From time to time clients who are attending The TARA Clinic require summary reports for court matters in either criminal or family court. If you require a report for court, speak with your therapist about the matter as they will require a formal request directly from your legal team outlining the information required. Once you have provided written consent to have your information provided to the third party, your therapist will complete the required report and send this to your legal team directly.
It is important to note that your therapist will require the formal written request from your legal representative a minimum of four weeks prior to the scheduled court date to allow them time to complete the report.
